This deliverable constitutes the CATALYST deliverable D8.6 “Green DC Energy Efficiency Roadmap v1” which is intended to summarize the activities of the Green Data Centre (DC) Stakeholder Group and provide a roadmap for DC Energy Efficiency. Indeed, its scope and reach has been considerably enhanced to address the issues listed below.
•The rapid and significant changes to the Standards Landscape as listed in D2.3, Appendix B, Data Centre Infrastructure Standards require that careful consideration is given to these changes to ascertain where the CATALYST project could be impacted.
This applies to the ASHRAE documents, the impending changes to the Data Centre Maturity Model (DCMM), the imminent changes to the CertifiedEnergy EfficientData CentreAward (CEEDA) criteria ,the significant amount of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) documents (contained in Appendix D), and the CEN/CENELEC/ETSI/CG-GDC.
•A further and widespread consultation of stakeholder’s exercise, to include the GDC-SG but also more widely. The information has been syndicated to various trade press outlets as a consultation exercise and feedback has been incorporated in this report.
This report covers our work to date on the production of the “Green DC Energy Efficiency Handbook” which also incorporates the “Green DC Energy Efficiency Roadmap v1” however, due to the complexity of the DC Standards Landscape and its interaction, this has becomea “Green DC Energy Efficiency Network Map v1”. The roadmap (network map) provides a mechanism for all types of DC to ascertain where they currently are, and the routes they could take to becoming a Green DC fully conversant with the CATALYST principles. These could potentially include the use of sector global standards, certification and assessment processes, the industry metrics, the technologies that are available and the interactionswith renewable energy systems (RES), heat services and IT migration services that may yield additional revenue or offset other costs
